Luise Markwort

Luise joined the IRTG as a research student in September 2024 and has since supported the coordination staff and individual researchers through bibliographical and editorial work as well as website development and maintenance. In October 2025 she attained her M.A. in Cultural Studies, Intercultural Exchange and Scandinavian Literature from the University of Greifswald. Her thesis examined an exhibition of Norwegian cultural history at the National Library of Norway as a reproduction of national narratives. Luise holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Münster in English and Scandinavian studies, with a focus on the production of post- and transnational identities in Norwegian hip-hop. Prior to joining the IRTG “Baltic Peripeties” as a research student, she worked for the culture festival Nordischer Klang and the scientific journal NORDEUROPAforum. Her main interests lie in the construction and mediation of national cultures and identities, especially in national libraries and canons of culture.
