Jan Süselbeck is Associate Professor of German Culture at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway (since 2021) and served as DAAD Associate Professor of German Studies at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His main research interests include Affect Studies, Literary Antisemitism, and the Representation of War in the Media. He is the author of Im Angesicht der Grausamkeit. Emotionale Effekte literarischer und audiovisueller Kriegsdarstellungen vom 19. bis zum 21. Jahrhundert (Facing Atrocities. Emotional Effects of Literary and Audiovisual Representations of War from the 18th to the 21st Century, Wallstein, 2013). Together with Stefanie Schüler-Springorum, he co-edited the volume Emotionen und Antisemitismus. Geschichte – Literatur – Theorie (Emotions and Antisemitism. History – Literature – Theory, Wallstein, 2021).
