Greifswald offers high quality, well developed dissemination platforms that reach the entire Baltic Sea region and beyond. The annual festival “Nordischer Klang” (Nordic Sound) attracts about 10,000 visitors with concerts, literary events, exhibitions and lectures by artists from Scandinavia, Finland, and the Baltics. The festival is organised by the cultural association Nordischer Klang e.V., which is associated with the Institute for Finnish and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Greifswald. It cooperates closely with Greifswald’s cultural institutions, which contribute their own programme items. In 2023, the 32nd edition is going to take place from 5th to 14th of May with a focus on Sámi culture and music supported by the IRTG Baltic Peripeties.
